“I Know All Syndrome”

The syndrome of "I know all” is reflected in most of us. In some, it is very prominent and in others it may be at reasonable level. The amazing fact is that perpetually we are not aware regarding the presence of this in our personality. The range of this syndrome is widespread from housewife to the top notch professional. Intensity varies from occasional showoff to permanent demonstration. We all deny it but with time there is always a possibility of having influence on us. Age is also no bar and we can observe this in kid and naturally in old warhorses as well.

The fallout of this syndrome is palpable to all of us. It overpowers our listening skill. We bring to a standstill our capacity to learning. It projects our personality high on superficial egos and keep on making its impact on relationships. We miss the option to strengthen our network because it can enhance our isolation from people. Our acceptance can only be due to the position and status we hold then respect, admiration.

The strong presence of this syndrome pushes us to a dark tunnel and rigidity is obvious in our behavior. We must introspect our conversations at regular intervals and it will reveal our shortcoming on this aspect. The controlled expression is sign of confidence but if we are not able to ensure it’s over influence in our communications, we may block our wisdom to be a better human being
