Unlearn to Learn


For developing the learning habit in our personal and professional matters we need to first understand the concept of unlearning. The biggest block in learning is our conviction to the existing approach and life style. You cannot learn anything worthwhile till there is an acceptance for acquiring of some new and fresh inputs.

We have strong tendency to stick to our self-defined values and thinking patterns. For getting acquainted to unlearning process we are required to question the status quo and it’s a slow process. Acquiring something new is much easier then avoiding the existing fervors. Unlearning give us pain and force us to capitulate present thought process. Unlearning divulge in opening the mind set so that fresh notions can be registered

Learning is key for survival in all spheres of Life and for being an effective learner, unlearning is stepping stone. When we say we have learned from our mistakes ,it connote to unlearning only. So unlearning is diversion from rigidity to openness. Once we are able to leave behind the burden of past impressions the stage is ready for consistent learning. The environment and circumstances of an individual influence the capacity and capability to unlearn but we all struggle to break the shackles of inflexibility, which is key to ignite the learning process.

  1. Getting through once's belief and then to teach him/her somthing which he/she not willing to learn is a task which very few people dare to do.
